Meeting Lizzy and Matt for the first time felt natural. Their strong bond and captivating personalities were truly enchanting, and each planning session increased our excitement for their special day. They entrusted us with their vision, allowing us to create a seamless event, making our planning process efficient, productive, and most importantly, enjoyable.
From early planning meetings we new they wanted to have a packed dance floor with delicious drinks and a moody, sultry design plan. The venue significantly influenced the ambiance, as the Liberty Hotel Boston is a renowned architectural landmark. Formerly a prison, the venue retains elements of its past, such as black steel jail bars and catwalk floors overlooking the vibrant lobby. It was an ideal setting for L+M to merge their dynamic NYC lifestyle with Boston's charm.
During the design process, we discovered Lizzy's passion for lush greenery and dim, moody lighting. They also mentioned their collection of matchbooks from various restaurants across NYC, a detail we incorporated into their escort cards and offered as a takeaway for their guests. We quickly realized that lighting would be a major feature of their design plan. Besides their appreciation for the ambiance it creates, the loud carpet of the ballroom could be effectively subdued with the right lighting strategy. On the tables, we combined neutral-toned champagne table linens with black ballroom chairs to complement the iron fixtures of the "former-jail" space. An additional mix of black and dark green elements on the table established a modern and sophisticated table setting for guests to toast to Lizzy and Matt.
From start to finish, their Wedding was intentionally them. Even with a last minute Ceremony location change due to Boston's lovely weather - their trust in us to turn Plan B in to their Plan A allowed us the freedom to do just that. In the end, it honestly felt like it should have been Plan A all along.
We love planning a the Liberty Hotel Boston Wedding and working with L+M on this celebration was an incredible experience. We can't wait to be back in 2025, but for now, grab a glass of champagne and enjoy these beautiful captures from Addie Roberge Photography.
